Class levels
What level quilter am I?
We have had many students ask "what level am I at?" or "Do you think I am ready to take that class?" We have added "Levels" to our classes so that it will be easier to find a class that works for you. We want you to have fun, enjoy your class and feel successful. We hope these levels will make it easier to register for classes.
Beginner: No experience needed, brand new at sewing or quilting and eager to learn! This student could also have some sewing experience, but not with quilting. This student may have made one quilt, self-taught but would benefit from formal class instructions.
Confident Beginner: Student has taken at least one beginner quilt class or has made at least two quilts, self-taught and is looking to learn something new.
Intermediate: Student has taken several quilting classes, small project classes, is very familiar with quilting techniques, has made several quilts.
**Please note that this is simply a guide and a suggestion. Please feel free to inquire about a class, if you are still unsure. We are careful to think of each student individually and we will find a class that's right for you!

Do you have a sewing machine lying around you want to learn to use? Are you looking to take up quilting, but need help with the basics first? Then you should sign up for one of our "know your machine" classes.
The only materials needed is your sewing machine and the manual.

Wool & Whimsy: Wool Hand Applique Block of the Month!
How does this program work?
This is a 12-month Wool Hand Applique Program in which you will create beautiful seasonal wool blocks each month. Each finished project measures approximately 10” x 11” making them perfect for small spaces, gifts, pillows or wall hangings.
The kickoff for this program will be held on Saturday, October 17th at 10:30am. There will be a 90-minute technique session where you will be shown the stitches used in the program and have a chance to practice them.
You must register for the program by October 10th to give us time to prepare your kits. We have a limited quantity, so don't wait too long if you want to join. We do not plan to ship materials at this time, local pick up only.
There are two options for participating in the program:
Option #1: pay in full- one time payment
Included in this option:
10” Wool Stacker Package (18 - 10” wool squares enough for all 12 months)
12 Matching spools of Eleganza Perle Cotton Thread
(6) 11” x 12” Cream Backgrounds
(6) 11” x 12” Black Backgrounds
12 Wool and Whimsy Patterns by Calico Patch
Cost is $320- save $25 when you pay in full. All materials will be distributed on, or after, October 17th during technique session.
option #2: Monthly payment program
Purchase the starter kit at the beginning of the program and then pay monthly for 11 consecutive months.
Starter Kit Includes:
10” Wool Stacker Package (18 - 10” wool squares enough for all 12 months)
12 Matching spools of Eleganza Perle Cotton Thread
Pattern #1 and the appropriate background wool.
For the monthly program a credit card must be kept on file. You will be charged $15 on the first of each month for eleven months (first month is included in the starter kit fee). Kits will be prepared and ready for pickup at the shop after the 10th of each month. This is an independent Block of the Month so there is no pressure to finish each block within the month. You will be working at
home and can work at your own pace.
Cost: $180 for starter kit, then $15 for 11 months
